Midjourney is a leading AI image generator. It has added a new image-to-video feature. This guide will show you how to turn your ideas into images and videos step-by-step. We will also share a process for making your own AI short films.

Getting Started with Midjourney

First, log into Midjourney or sign up for a plan. The Explore section is where you typically land. Here, you can find inspiration from what other creators have made. Click on an image you like to see how it was made. You can view references and prompts. This helps you learn how to create your own.

The Create Interface: Your Command Center

Go to the Create section. This is your main area for making things. At the top, you will see the prompt bar. Type your commands here to make images. The symbol on the right shows more options.

Understanding the Options

[LI]Models:

  • Standard: Gives results that are more stylized and open to interpretation.

  • Raw: Stays closer to your prompt and styles less.

[/LI]

[LI]Versions:

  • Standard: A bit slower but makes slightly better images.

  • Draft: Faster but may have a little less detail.

  • You can pick the current model or older ones with different features.

[/LI]

[LI]Aesthetics: Adjust how much style is added.[/LI]

[LI]Rarity: Higher values often create more dreamlike results.[/LI]

[LI]Variety: Controls how different your results will be in a series.[/LI]

[LI]Speeds: Choose from Relax, Fast, or Turbo. Each has different costs based on fast hours.[/LI]

Crafting Effective Prompts for Images

To make an image, type your idea into the prompt bar and press enter. For better results, give Midjourney more information. Use this structure:

[LI]Visual References: Include artistic references if you want something very specific.[/LI>

[/UL]

Once ready, hit submit and wait for your four images. If you are serious about speeding up your Midjourney workflow and want to generate images faster and more consistently, check out the Midjourney Automation Suite from TitanXT. It can help you make the image creation process easier.

Refining Your Images: Post-Generation Options

When you click on the image you like best, you will see options:

[LI]Scaling:

  • Subtle: Improves definition and resolution without big changes.

  • Creative: Adds small objects or finishes for a bit of extra detail.

[/LI]

[LI]Run: Make another set of four images using the same command.[/LI]

[LI]Editing:

  • This sends you to a different screen with advanced options to change your image.

  • Adjust the aspect ratio or image scale.

  • Use brushes or the quick selection tool to remove unwanted objects directly on your image.

  • Change the prompt to tell Midjourney what you want to appear in the erased spot, or just guide the image better.

  • Click submit to get new results.

Using References For Consistency

You can use an image to get references for its structure, style, characters, or even objects. Select an image, and it will be added to your prompt. This helps your new results follow the reference image's structure. You can do the same with a style you like to affect the look of your creation.

You can also copy text to your prompt bar and combine style and image references for very specific results. Midjourney version seven has a better character reference system called Omnireference. This helps you get characters that look similar across different generations, even if not 100% exact.

To use it, pick a model you like as a reference image and move it to the Omnireference section. This works best with a 1:1 aspect ratio, moderate light, and a front profile without anything blocking the character's main features. Always keep your character description in the prompt to help. Then, press submit to make your new image.

You can also change how much the character looks like the reference by adjusting the Omnireference values. This feature is very helpful when making animated videos.

Personalizing Your Midjourney Style

Midjourney has a personalization option. Go to Personalize. You can teach Midjourney your tastes. Find "create ranked profile" and click Create. Then, choose from the images Midjourney shows you. If you don't like any, skip them. Your ranked profile, when active, means all images you create will be influenced by your unique style. This helps you make consistent and unique content.

Another useful option is "Moodboard" in the same window. Here, you can upload your own images or a series of images in a specific style, like vintage black and white film or a specific anime style. We suggest you explore this feature. Tell us in the comments how you have used it.

Want to make your Midjourney generations even more powerful? Consider the Midjourney Automation Suite from TitanXT. It brings a new level of ease and control to your creative process.

Bringing Images to Life: Midjourney Video

Now, let's make our images move. Pick the image you want to animate. In the animation options, you have automatic low motion and high motion choices.

For manual animation, you also have low and high movement. Here, you tell the AI what is happening in the image. Unlike image prompts, the focus of your video prompt should be the action. The clearer you describe the action, the more control you will have over the final video. For the best results, always upscale your image first, then animate it. This makes a higher-resolution video.

You can also extend your scenes. You have manual or automatic options for this. You can repeat this up to four times, making video clips up to 17 seconds long. Here is a helpful trick: if you use the "start frame" option in your last video, that frame will become your first image for animating a new clip. Use an action-focused prompt and generate. You can then extend this new scene for another 17 seconds. Later, you can join both clips in your favorite video editor.

You can download images and videos using the download icon. You can also download images in groups. Go to Organize, where your creation history is stored. Use the filter system to find your projects faster. You can select many images and download them all at once.

The cost of each animation is the same as scaling an image. This makes Midjourney a very affordable image-to-video tool. Midjourney creates a lot of movement in its results. It often does better in this area than tools like Runway, which are better at resolution but more static. However, it may sometimes give slightly less detailed results than Clink 2.1 or Minimx 02. But it is very close to BO2 and Dream Machine, among others.

Enhancing Your Midjourney Videos: Beyond the Basics

Here are some tips to make your Midjourney video clips even better:

  • Video Editor: You will need a video editor like Capcut, Filmora, Adobe Premiere, or Da Vinci Resolve. Use it to put your clips in order and make a final project.

  • Audio Generation: Midjourney does not make audio yet. For this, we suggest Eleven Labs. You can write your own text and improve it using GPT or Gemini Chat for better sound. Then go to Eleven Labs, choose Text to Speech, paste your text, and pick a voice or clone your own. This will give your work more purpose.

  • You can also create your own audio effects. Go to Sound DFX and describe the sounds you need to create them for your content.

  • Music: If you need music, make it with Enzuno or Audio. (Check out tutorials for these if interested).

Putting all these pieces together, you can create impressive AI-powered videos. The possibilities are vast, and the tools are becoming more accessible. For those looking to streamline their creative process and get the most out of Midjourney, consider exploring the Midjourney Automation Suite from TitanXT. It’s designed to make your journey smoother and more efficient.
