February brought some important updates and previews from Midjourney. If you use the Midjourney website to manage your images, you'll find big changes to how you can organize everything. Plus, get details on upcoming editor tools, the next version (V7), and video plans.

Better Ways to Organize Your Midjourney Images

Good news for keeping your creative projects tidy on the Midjourney website.

Accessing Your Folders

Your existing folders are now easier to find. Just click the folder icon in the upper right corner.

Creating New Folders

To make a new folder, click the designated button and give it a name.

Adding Images to Folders

You can add images by dragging them into a folder or by right-clicking an image and selecting the 'add to' option.

Using Folder Groups

You can now group related folders. This helps keep large projects structured. For example, if you're creating assets for a comic, put folders for characters, scenes, and style tests into one group.

Generate Images Directly in Folders

A very helpful new feature lets you create images right inside a chosen folder. Whether you're on the organize page or the create page, select your folder first. Any images you make will go straight into that folder automatically. This is similar to using dedicated channels in Discord for a project.

Saved Searches (Formerly Smart Folders)

Smart folders have been renamed Saved Searches. Use this feature when you often look for images matching certain words, phrases, or settings. Saved searches update automatically as you create new images that fit the criteria. Click 'add search' and enter your text or parameters. For instance, you can set up a saved search to find all images using a specific character reference.

Sneak Peek at Upcoming Editor Improvements

More features are coming soon to the Midjourney image editor.

New Tools and Layers

Look forward to better selection tools beyond the current brush. A new layers feature is also expected. Midjourney mentioned possibilities like combining parts of different images and retexturing the result.

These editor updates could arrive in a couple of weeks.

Midjourney V7 Progress Report

The next major version, V7, is getting closer.

Training is Wrapping Up

Midjourney says V7 is in the final training stages.

Omni Reference Feature

The new Omni Reference system is reportedly working well. It should handle referencing characters, scenes, objects, and logos. We don't know yet if this will fully replace the current character reference feature or if both will be available in V7.

Compatibility with V6 Content

Good news: V7 should work with previous V6 features like srf codes, mood boards, and personalization profiles.

Target Release Time

The V7 release is aimed for March.

Want to get the most out of new features like V7? Consider automating parts of your workflow. The Midjourney Automation Suite from TitanXT can help streamline your image generation process.

Updates on Video and 3D

Midjourney also shared plans for video and 3D features.

Developing Their Own Video Model

Instead of partnering, Midjourney will likely build their own video model. They have a small model that is improving.

Community Help Needed

They might ask the community to help rate videos soon. Keep an eye out for announcements.

Making Video Affordable

The goal is to offer video creation across all plans, even the basic one, although it might be limited on lower tiers.

The first video model should appear after V7 is released.

Progress on 3D Features

Midjourney has made progress in making their model work with all images for 3D purposes. The immediate goal is to let users change the camera angle of their images. Longer-term goals include creating something like a world model, but that is further away.

Hints of Secret Projects

Midjourney continues to hint at other things they are building. Recent office hours hinted at big physical projects happening in a warehouse with scaffolding. They plan to show off around half a dozen such projects later this year.

As you work with all these features, remember tools exist to make your Midjourney workflow run smoother. The Midjourney Automation Suite from TitanXT is designed to enhance your experience.

These February updates provide a roadmap for exciting things coming to Midjourney soon, from better organization and editing tools to the next model version and new capabilities like video and 3D. Stay tuned for more details as these features roll out.
