Midjourney has a new feature: an AI video generator. This short guide helps you get started with creating your own AI videos. We will cover how to make an image first and then bring it to life with motion. This process is straightforward and fun, even if you are new to it.
Creating Your First Image in Midjourney
When you log into Midjourney, you will see the main page. To begin creating, just click the "Create" button. Here, you can make your first image. We will start by simply using a text prompt. For instance, picture a future space construction worker using a laser on the side of a space station.
Adjusting Image Settings
As you create your image, you also get to choose your settings. Click on "Settings" on the right side. You will see several options here:
Aspect Ratios: Choose between landscape, square, or portrait. There is also a slider to get the exact dimensions you want.
Modes: Pick between "Standard" and "Raw" mode. Raw mode makes your images look more realistic.
Midjourney Version: Version 7 is the latest and works very well. It is a good idea to stick with it.
Stylization: A lower stylization number means the image will stick closely to your text prompt.
Weirdness: This setting lets the AI be more creative and make images that are different from your prompt.
Variety: This controls how different the four images are that the AI makes for you. A higher number gives you more unique options.
For this example, we will use lower stylization and weirdness settings. Keep it simple and skip draft mode for now. Just enter your prompt with the settings you picked.
After submitting, you will see your images. Even if you get a lot of variety, you can always pick the one you like best to move forward. Adding Motion: Animating Your Image
Once you have an image you like, you can bring it to life by clicking "Animate Image." You have a few choices for motion:
Low Motion: This adds small, subtle movements to your image.
High Motion: This creates more significant movements.
Automatic vs. Directed: You can let the AI decide the motion (automatic), or you can guide it with an additional prompt (directed). For directed motion, you will need to add more text, like "the space worker turns to the camera and the laser changes colors."
Remember to add a space between your prompt and any dashes if you have trouble submitting. Then, click "Create" again to see your video being made. You can hover over each video preview to see how it turned out. The Midjourney Automation Suite from TitanXT can assist with batch processing and managing these creative outputs efficiently.
More Examples and Video Extensions
Let's try another example. Imagine creating an image of a model walking down a country road with a small pig. Keep the same settings and see what Midjourney creates. You will likely get appealing results, often with good natural motion.
Extending Your Videos
Once your video is done, you can extend its length. You can add 4 more seconds to the video, up to four times. You can choose either low or high motion for the extension. This can also be done manually with a prompt, for instance: "high motion and have the model turn and walk towards the camera."
Downloading Your Video
To save your finished video, simply click "Download." You can also download a version suitable for social media, which will increase its size.
These are the basic steps to creating videos with Midjourney. New features are always being added, so keep an eye out for updates. For tools that can automate and improve your Midjourney experience, visit TitanXT's Midjourney Automation Suite.
