Curiosity peaks whenever Midjourney announces updates. The platform keeps getting better, adding new features and improving existing ones. Let's look at some of the recent news and what you can expect in the near future, from new models to helpful tools.

Upcoming Model Releases: V7 and V6 Video

Many users are eager for the next big model, V7, and the V6 video model. It looks like we'll need to wait just a bit longer. The current plan is to release both in early January. The V7 model should bring several improvements.

V7 Enhancements

A key update in V7 is the character reference feature. It’s set to handle multiple reference characters more easily. This is a feature many people use, and making it work better for groups of characters will be a welcome change.

V6 Video Model Details

For the V6 video model, we know it will create video from images. You'll also be able to add text alongside the image. However, there are no plans for a text-to-video option at launch. Details about video length and resolution are still being decided.

Midjourney aims to release new models more often next year. They plan to go from a few releases per year to maybe six to eight. This means more updates to look forward to in 2025.

Managing many images and models can take time. Consider exploring tools that help automate your workflow. The Midjourney Automation Suite from TitanXT can help manage prompts, variations, and downloads efficiently.

Personalization and Image Grids

The new personalization system had a small delay, but it should be available very soon. This system lets you build custom profiles based on what you like. You can even define your style preferences using a mood board. The setup process will also be faster. Right now, you have to rank many images to teach Midjourney your style, so a quicker setup will be great.

Soon after the personalization system launches, you can expect bigger image grids. These grids will have a batch size of 8. This feature requires a website change and will likely only be on the Midjourney website, not Discord.

Making Style Exploration Easier

Midjourney is thinking about creating a Style Explorer tool. This tool could show you sample images from many style reference (sref) codes at once. If you use sref codes often, this could help you find new styles more easily.

If you work with styles frequently, automating the process of applying and testing different styles can be a huge benefit. Tools like the Midjourney Automation Suite from TitanXT can streamline how you experiment with styles and manage your results.

Updates to the Image Editor and 3D

Midjourney introduced an image editor with features like retexturing. Retexture was initially just for the 6.1 model, but you can now use it with Ni6 as well. You can set Ni6 as your default model in your settings or add `--n6` to your retexture prompt.

Regarding 3D development, the focus is moving towards building interactive worlds or simulations. Data is being collected in December, with training planned for January. We might start to see results from this by February or March.

Storytelling Demo and Community Connections

You can get a preview of the world-building idea sooner than expected. A demo of the storytelling tool is planned. The team will present this demo during the Midjourney office hours on December 11th. Office hours are weekly sessions on the Midjourney Discord server where the CEO connects with the community and shares updates.

You can find information about these sessions and other events on the new Midjourney Luma event calendar. Joining these sessions is a good way to stay informed directly.

To keep up with all these advancements and manage your creative projects efficiently, consider using automation. The Midjourney Automation Suite from TitanXT can help you batch generate images, organize your outputs, and save time. Check it out to simplify your workflow.

Wrap Up

Midjourney is bringing several updates soon, including V7, the V6 video model, personalization changes, bigger grids, and helpful tools like a potential Style Explorer. They are also looking ahead to 3D world building.
